On Friday 28th June 2019, CIIM – The Cyprus International Institute of Management held the press conference for the successful completion of its Balkan-Med Interreg project entitled “Education for ideas, inventions and innovations for entrepreneurship – i3”. The programme was a unique opportunity, fully-funded research and training workshops in 5 different countries, which covered new innovative approaches to entrepreneurship in the following areas: environment, energy, lifestyle, technology and IT. The cooperation involved five countries – Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Republic of North Macedonia, and Albania.

Throughout the project, each partner promoted its respective theme and workshop, in recruiting 10 trainees with similar interests and background of the theme, with a total of 250 trainees participating in the 5 workshops of the project partners. In conclusion, the i3 Conference and Fair hosted the best performing trainees from each of the workshops to represent their country.

CIIM’s role as a project partner, in addition to research and analysis of the above-mentioned themes, i3 Project Coordinator Dr. George Guirgis (CIIM’s International Relations Executive) lead the research and the hosting of the training workshops for the theme “Energy” on business innovation for selected interns from the five countries involved in the project, as well as representing this theme in the closing i3 Fair and conference.

Prof. Takis Stylianides, CIIM’s VP of Operations, and i3 Project Manager explained that “Through this i3 program, we have set the basis for the support of innovation and entrepreneurship on a local, regional, and international level as is evident from the Project’s successful outcome. CIIM, has prioritized innovation from its very first day of establishment, and we are planning to build on this project’s success by creating new opportunities for aspiring young innovators in the future”.
