A Letter of Admission does not give international students the right to travel to Cyprus. It only means that CIIM has accepted you and it undertakes the obligation to apply for your student visa.

Visa

For the purpose of visa issuance, as soon as you receive the Letter of Admission, you will be required to submit the original completed Application Form together with all documents and payments mentioned in said Letter of Admission. According to the Cyprus Immigration Regulations, visa requirements are the following:

Degrees and Transcripts/Marksheets

All applicants are required to submit certified (“Apostilled”) copies of their High School Leaving Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree and Transcripts.
The originals will be presented at the Cyprus Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s home country when the applicant visits them for an entry visa interview. If the certificates/degrees and grades/marks are not issued in English, the applicant will be required to submit official English translations along with certified copies of the documents in the original language.

Letters of Recommendation

Two letters of recommendation must accompany the application form. Recommendations from friends, family members, or acquaintances are not acceptable and will not be reviewed.
The letters of recommendation should be sent in sealed envelopes and signed by the referee. Referees may prepare letters for this purpose or use the Admission Recommendation Form provided by CIIM.

Payment

For the purpose of visa issuance, as soon as the student receives the Letter of Admission, the payments listed below must be made to CIIM via bank transfer.
Kindly note that according to the Migration Department’s requirements, the transfer slip must clearly indicate your name, passport number and CIIM admission number.

The payments are:

  • Medical Insurance Fee = €185
  • Entry Visa Application Fee = €90
  • Registration Fee = €850 (This is a deposit towards the Tuition Fees and it is credited to your account with CIIM. Typically, this fee is not refundable. It will only be refunded if the visa is denied.)
  • First Tuition Fee Installment = €3,750 (MBA/MPSM) or €1,925 (MSc)
  • First Accommodation Fee Installment = €1,400 (covering 4 month’s rent and deposits.)

Please note that for visa purposes in order to be accepted by the Migration Authorities of the Republic of Cyprus:

  • If your country is an HCCH member authority, all documents must bear the stamp (“Apostille”) of the Hague Convention (1961).
  • If your country is not an HCCH member, all documents must be notarised by your country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then certified by the Cyprus Embassy or Consulate located in your home country.

Bank Guarantee

Visa applications cannot be processed unless accompanied by a certified copy of a recent letter from a bank that states that the sponsor (father, mother or company) has sufficient funds to support you for the duration of your studies.

You must keep the original document as you will need to present it to the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate in your home country in order to obtain your entry visa. If this letter is not issued in English, a certified English translation must be attached.

Click here to download a sample bank guarantee letter.

A bank statement indicating the balance of the sponsor’s account is not sufficient, unless it shows a credit balance in excess of €20,000. In this case, the name of the applicant must be clearly written on the statement.

Good Character Certificate

This should be a certified copy of a recent letter issued by the Police Authorities or Ministry of Justice in your home country stating that you do not have a criminal record.

You must keep the original document as you will need to present it to the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate in your home country in order to obtain the entry visa.

This certificate should also be accompanied by a certified English translation if the original is not issued in English.

Passport Copy

A certified copy of the passport page(s) that show your personal information (i.e. name, date of birth, place of issue, date of issue and expiry of passport) must be forwarded together with the application. The passport must be valid for at least one year; otherwise, the immigration authorities will not accept it.

Health Certificate

The Health Certificate will include blood test results confirming that you do not suffer from Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS or Syphilis, and a Chest X-Ray report indicating that you do not suffer from Tuberculosis.
You must submit a certified copy since the original will be presented to the Cyprus Embassy or Consulate in your home country.

Process

All the above documentation is essential as it will be required when CIIM applies for your entry visa to Cyprus. The immigration authorities of Cyprus will not process any application for a visa unless all of the above are attached to the visa application.

When CIIM receives all of the above, the Admissions Officer will acknowledge receipt of the application and immediately review its contents and supporting documents. Should there be any item(s) missing, the Admissions Officer will contact you to inform you of what is required before the visa application can be processed.

As soon as CIIM is in receipt of all of the above documents including payments, a visa application is submitted to the local authorities. This process generally takes around four weeks to be completed.

Please do not travel to Cyprus before receiving a visa confirmation from CIIM – please read the fourth stage very carefully.

Stage 4 – Travelling to Cyprus
