What the latest trends mean for marketers
Digital marketers love their buzzwords e.g. Programmatic (Real Time Bidding), content marketing, native advertising, augmented and virtual reality. But it’s often difficult to tell which of these is a temporary blip, i.e. a short-lived fad or gimmick, and which represents a real significant change, presenting both challenges and opportunities to today’s marketers.
In this fast-paced and highly informative session, CIIM external lecturer Mike Berry will take us through today’s key digital marketing trends, answering the questions: What’s new? and What’s next? Mike will focus on changes which are currently happening (and about to happen) which will have a real impact on marketing globally over the coming months and years. Crucially, Mike will explain how businesses can gain a real competitive edge in this dynamic marketing landscape.
Mike Berry MSc, Dip DM, F IDM, FCIM
In a 30-year career in marketing, Mike has worked with many of the world’s largest brands. Having started out at Procter and Gamble, he has held senior international roles at Wunderman (WPP) and Bozell/ FCB and Jack Morton (Interpublic). Since becoming a freelance trainer, lecturer, and consultant in 2009, Mike has worked with CIIM as Course Tutor and Guest Lecturer in Digital Marketing in both Nicosia and Limassol.
He is Course Tutor on the IDM’s Professional Diploma in Direct and Digital Marketing and sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Direct, Data and Digital Marketing Practice (Macmillan). Mike is Lead Course Director, Digital Strategy at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Mike is Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Course Leader on the Master of International Marketing Programme at Hult International Business School, London. He was voted ‘Professor of The Year’ by the students. He is a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College London and the Universities of Cranfield and Warwick.
He trains and consults ‘in-company’ for major corporations (brand owners and agencies) and SMEs.
Mike is both passionate and knowledgeable about digital marketing and his classical marketing training, and wide experience makes him ideally qualified to train marketers at all levels in digital skills.
Mike is the author/ co-author of ‘The New Integrated Direct Marketing’ (Gower) and The Best of Global Digital Marketing Books 1 and 2.
