Student mobility for studies

The Erasmus+ programme offers you the opportunity to go abroad for a study period at a partner university that is participating in the Erasmus+ Programme. You may apply for the Erasmus subsidy grant during which will cover partially your living expenses during the study period abroad. The study period must be for a minimum of 3 and can range up to 12 months.

Application Procedure

  1. Search the study programmes of CIIM Partner Universities to identify the programme and courses offered in the semester(s) that you wish to study abroad.
  2. Consult with your Programme Director to find the corresponding courses with CIIM.
  3. Fill out and submit the non-binding Declaration of Interest form to [email protected] by:
    October 31st – for the spring/summer semester
    May 31st – for the fall/winter semester
  4. Upon approval CIIM will send your nomination to the host University.
  5. Complete the Learning Agreement with the relevant modules and ECTS credits of the host university and send it to [email protected].
  6. Once the courses have been checked and approved by the porgramme director you will submit the Learning Agreement along with any other necessary documents to [email protected] before the applications deadline of the host University.
  7. CIIM will then send your application to the institutions that you wish to apply for.

Important note:
Universities that you wish to apply to must have a bilateral agreement with CIIM. In case you wish to apply to a University that does not have a bilateral agreement with CIIM then you must inform us of this so that we can contact the specific University in order to establish a partnership.

Selection Criteria

CIIM’s Erasmus Selection Committee is responsible for the evaluation of all applications based on the following selection criteria:

  • Academic performance
  • Level of language competence.
  • Motivation to participate in the Erasmus+ programme.

All applicants are duly informed by the CIIM Erasmus Office.

Before, during and after your Erasmus experience

Before your departure you will have to complete the online linguistics course and/or assessment.

We recommend that you acquire the EU Health Card from the Cyprus Ministry of Health, which will give you access to health care in all participating EU countries.

Duly signed Learning and Grant Agreement (in case of approved subsidy).

When you arrive at the host institution the Erasmus office must sign the Arrival Form and return it to CIIM

During your study abroad your academic supervisor at the host institution will monitor your progress and complete the confidential progress report to CIIM.

Before you leave the host institution their Erasmus office must provide you with:

  • An official transcript with the courses you have attended.
  • Testimonial from the host institute confirming the mobility period. Certificate of Departure which you will bring back to CIIM upon your return.
  • Documents that you need to submit to CIIM upon return:
    1. Official transcript with the courses you have attended. CIIM will perform the Recognition Procedure so that you receive the ECTS credits that correspond to the course(s) attended at the host institution.
    2. Arrival and Departure certificate from the host institute.
    3. Final report (you will receive a link to complete this report online).
    4. Confidential progress report
    5. Learning Agreement – in case of any changes during the mobility.
    6. Boarding passes and copy of your tickets.
    7. Erasmus grant acceptance form.

Student Mobility for Trainee-ship

The Erasmus+ programme gives you the opportunity to go abroad for a traineeship in companies, organisations or universities in countries that participate in the Programme. In case the host organisation is a university, a valid inter-institutional agreement between CIIM and the partner University is required.

You may apply for the Erasmus subsidy grant during which will cover partially your living expenses during the mobility.

The traineeship period must be for a minimum of 2 and can range up to 12 months.

Important note:
The host country must be different from the country of the sending organisation (in particular, Cyprus for OUC) and the students’ country of residence.

The following organisations are NOT eligible:

  • European Union institutions and other EU bodies (Visit website for the exhaustive list)
  • Organizations that manage EU programmes (to avoid possible conflicts of interest and/or double funding)
  • Representations or public institutions of the student’s home country, such as embassies, consulates, cultural institutes, schools, etc, due to the requirement of transnationality (i.e., the added value of a transnational placement as compared to a domestic placement).

Application Procedure

  • Identify potential host organization(s) from the internship list available; from posts in the messages section of the student intranet, by searching online for traineeship positions, through the National Agency of the country you are interested in, or by contacting CIIM Erasmus Office for assistance.
  • Contact the host organization(s) through email, by sending your CV and a cover letter expressing your interest to undertake traineeship mobility.
  • Fill out and submit the non-binding Declaration of Interest form for approval to [email protected] by:
    October 31st – for the spring/summer semester
    May 31st – for the fall/winter semester
  • After receiving a positive reply from the host organization and the Erasmus selection committee and you will send the Training Agreement to the host organization to complete.
  • Once you receive the agreement completed and signed from the host organization you must send it to [email protected] to finalize the remaining mobility and grant details.

Selection Criteria

  • Motivation to participate in the Erasmus+ programme

Priority may be given to students who are currently unemployed.

All applicants are duly informed by the CIIM Erasmus Office.

Before, during and after your Erasmus experience

Health insurance: either by acquiring the EU Health Card from the Cyprus Ministry of Health or other insurance with which you will have access to health care in the host country.

Confirmation of acceptance from host organization (e-mail or hard copy)

Duly signed Training Agreement and Grant Agreement.

During your study abroad your Training supervisor at the host organization will monitor your progress and complete the confidential progress report to CIIM.

Before you leave the host organization your supervisor must provide you with a certificate of successfully completed traineeship.

Documents that you need to submit to CIIM upon return:

  • Certificate of Successfully Completed Traineeship.
  • Final report (you will receive a link to complete this report online).
  • Confidential progress report
  • Training Agreement – in case of any changes during the mobility.
  • Boarding passes and copy of your tickets.
  • Erasmus grant acceptance form.
