Programming skills are considered among the core competencies and skills in the 21st century. Organisations, start-ups and companies are trying desperately to discover and recruit individuals that excel in the field of computer science and especially programming. In recent years, this fact was importantly realised and precisely for this reason, the importance of programming has become a subject of increasing international awareness, moving from the narrow domain of computer scientists to the broader world, including the secondary education space (Gymnasium & Lyceum).
CIIM has designed and offers a unique summer school programming experience for students without prior programming experience. The programming language taught is Python, considered among the top programming languages by many sources, like the world-renowned IEEE Spectrum magazine. Python is also the language of choice for introductory computer courses at MIT.
Python is a simple yet powerful language that is easy for beginners to start with. It has a powerful set of libraries that can be used to solve a wide variety of problems in the fields of computer vision, data exploration, data analytics and many others.
The duration of the summer school is 5 days, during which the students will learn how to tackle problems from diverse areas through practical and fun examples!
