Overview
In today’s complex and fast changing business environment, effective communication is essential for individual, team and organisational success. The aim of this module is equip participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to communicate with consistent and positive impact and to provide a foundation for some of the later modules which will focus on specific applications of communication such as coaching, people management and negotiation. We will also explore the different styles of communication that participants and the people they communicate with prefer to use. The module is highly interactive and practical, so as to give participants maximum opportunity to use the skills being taught.
Objectives

Faculty: Jacquie Drake
Jacquie is Professor of Communication and Organisational Behaviour at CIIM. She is also a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management, UK where until 2007 she was Executive Director of The Praxis Centre. She has been a faculty member at Cranfield for 25 years in the field of Organisational Behaviour and is also Visiting Lecturer at the University of Mannheim in Germany.
Before moving into management education, Jacquie’s work experience was in marketing and information services. She has degrees in Economic History (BA), Business (MBA) and Management Development (PhD). She has also trained in psychotherapy. Her Doctorate was in the transfer of training from place of learning to place of work and was sponsored by the telecommunications company, Cable & Wireless.
In parallel with her Cranfield work, Jacquie has over twenty years experience consulting internationally to a wide range of organisations and individuals in the business world speaking at Conferences, delivering management development courses and workshops, facilitating senior level off-site strategy meetings and team-builds, and undertaking individual mentoring and coaching at Director level.
Fees and General Information
This seminar is approved and subsidized for the amount of 133€ by the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA). HRDA sponsors companies that satisfy their criteria.
The fees are €267 per participant for companies eligible to HRDA subsidy and €400 per participant without HRDA subsidy.
This individual session is part of the Executive Development Programme.
