The aim of this seminar is provide participants with an explanation of best practice in corporate governance and how to improve the board’s effectiveness. Knowledge is provided so as to develop ones understanding of the role of the board in an international context. One is exposed to an in-depth view of the key duties, roles and legal responsibilities of directors. The seminar offers a great opportunity to understand the legal status of a company and other organisations. Furthermore best practice in managing risk is highlighted and the vital importance of stakeholders to the business success is explained.

Trainer: Paul Munden 

Paul is an experienced commercial law barrister and chartered director.  Over the last ten years Paul has served as legal director and general counsel of the Business Link operation in London.  During this time Paul has advised on a wide range of complex and politically sensitive commercial law issues, working with senior leaders in government and the civil service.  Throughout his career Paul has championed the improvement of corporate governance standards in businesses and governmental organisations across London.   Paul also served as non-executive chairman of a Bafta ward winning educational software house. 
Currently Paul is on the Board of the North Essex Cluster Primary Care Trust responsible for commissioning £1.5bn of healthcare services annually.  He is a member of the Legal Services Board, the body responsible for ensuring ongoing reform in legal services in the UK and is external adviser to the board of the General Teaching Council for England.

Paul is currently the lead tutor at the Institute of Directors responsible for designing the governance and director roles and responsibly elements of the chartered director syllabus. In his course leader capacity at the IoD Paul has worked with the boards of some of the UK’s leading companies, among others, the Office Depot, Fed Ex UK, BMT Group and John Laing. In the public sector Paul has worked with officers at the highest levels of the Ministry of Defence, the National Health Service, the Police and the Department of International Development.

Fees and General Information

In order for you to complete your Certificate in Company Direction Programme you will need to take your Examination. Please note that the examination date is the 20th June 2012. The examination will be conducted on-line.

Fees
The IoD Company Direction Certification Programme fees are €4,600.

No VAT is charged due to CIIM’s VAT exemption status.

The balance of the fees is payable upon enrollment. For cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course the cancellation fee is €600.

Examination Fee:
