mpsm_strThe MPSM programme is built on three pillars: Common Core Courses, Specialised electives areas of expertise and a Final Thesis.

The MPSM programme consists of 525 hours of classroom contact time in addition to project work representing another 75 hours. 75 ECTS credits of the classroom contact time represent the mandatory core courses of the MPSM while 30 ECTS credits cover special electives.

In addition, optional tutorials are offered in several of the more quantitative subjects, such as statistics, economics and finance, for students who feel they need additional instruction or to strengthen their skills.

Students are expected to maintain an overall minimum average of 70% (B-) for a total of 120 ECTS credits. Furthermore, their project work must satisfy a panel of faculty and will normally require an oral as well as a written presentation.

The MPSM Structure in Brief:

  • Language of instruction is English.
  • Intensive short course modules.
  • Rigorous, analytical and quantitative instruction, interactive case method, team exercises, simulation games and “live” projects.
  • Assessment is continuous. A combination of different methods, including written exercises, in-classroom examinations and class participation, determine the participant’s grade.
  • Project work is an integral part of both degree programmes.
  • Major emphasis is placed on developing computer-literate graduates with an appreciation of the strategic value and practical possibilities of information technology. To this end, lecturers use simulation games, spreadsheets, and other computer exercises as part of their teaching methodology. CIIM has well- equipped, up-to-date computer facilities and research laboratories.
  • Team exercises and management style presentations are important components of the programmes aiming to sharpen the participants’ presentation and communication skills, as well as cultivate people skills and team spirit.

Mode of Study

This flexible, modular programme of study enables students to start at any time of the year and progress at their own pace. While some students complete their degree in one year (full-time mode, less than 15 months), others choosing to combine study with work or other commitments, require longer (15 months to 2 years) to complete their course.
