Internships and Apprenticeships
If you are not employed, you will be assisted to secure a guided internship or apprenticeship with an organization as to begin acquiring the necessary experience concurrently with your studies. Internships are an important part of the programme and the learning experience: they enable you to observe, as well as apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations, acquire some practical experience and clarify your career goals; they may be paid or unpaid. Apprenticeships on the other hand are paid requiring you to work in the company exercising day-to-day responsibilities under the guidance of a senior manager and close faculty supervision; the sponsoring company may pay you a salary. If you are already employed, the programme will draw on your daily work experience and support you to perform at a higher level. (See brochure on “Action Learning and Career Development” for details). Those opting not to pursue an internship, apprenticeship or employment while studying may either do a Final Project (Thesis) or take additional electives.
