Learning Outcomes

  • the knowledge and skills required of financial managers and analysts, operating in an international environment
  • an understanding of contemporary financial problems and issues facing international business and banks
  • the ability to explore and analyze financial market structures and related issues
  • a thorough understanding of financial instruments, financial modeling techniques and how they can be applied in practice
  • an understanding of the ways banks use futures, options, derivatives and swaps to manage their balance sheet and off-balance sheet risks
  • an understanding of financial risks and ability to assess, analyze and manage risk exposure

Innovative Teaching and Learning Methods

The programme uses innovative teaching and interactive learning methods with emphasis on action learning, problem solving and decision making in a practical context. These include case studies, business games, live projects, management simulations, in-company projects, presentations, team work, role playing, guest speakers from industry and government, field visits and partnerships. The language of instruction is English.


Programme Duration

The MSc in Finance and Banking is a modular programme with rolling admissions that allow you flexible starting time. It is taught evenings and weekends, leaving your weekdays free for employment. The programme is modular giving you maximum flexibility: you can complete it in one year by attending classes 6-8 evenings plus one weekend per month or you can complete it at a slower pace taking up to a maximum of two years.
